Komodo is one of the 17,508 islands that comprise the Republic of Indonesia. Komodo Island is part of Komodo National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The island is Habitat of the Komodo Dragons and apparently only the habitat. Human inhabitants number about 2,000. The only tours are small groups with 3 guides to keep the dragons from biting the tourists! I don’t particularly care for lizards in the first place, therefore I won’t be going ashore. One must have a tour or entry is denied. I guess it’s similar to the Galápagos Islands which are also a protected habitat.

Meanwhile back onboard, we are continuing to keep busy by participating in fun activities such as crafts, playing games, doing jigsaw puzzles, gambling 🤑🤑🤑, swimming, hot tub, gym, line dancing, trivia, port talks, afternoon tea, and thermal suite with heated lounges, stream rooms, and saunas. We also don’t cook, clean, or my favorite…we don’t need to squeegee the shower doors! 😅😅😅 There’s also really good musical entertainment onboard. 🎶🎵🎶 We love the band “2 Cool Duo!”

Missed port o’call: so far we have missed 4 ports o’call but added one. I asked another couple onboard who have had three previous world cruises about this. They had never had their itineraries changed for bad weather!!! So, on our cruise, the warning “results not typical!” may apply. 😅😅😅
Recap we missed the last 3 ports in New Zealand but added the port of Melbourne Australia. Then in Australia, we missed Darwin.
Below are photos from another guest on my snorkeling excursion in Cains Australia
