Ketchikan has my second favorite Alaskan shopping spot, “Creek Street!” The best part was being blessed by sunny weather, which in Ketchikan is a miracle!
The Empress Hotel, Victoria, B.C.
Apparently January 20th is a pretty good day for beginnings. The Empress Hotel opened January 20, 1809 and that’s my birthday too! It was built by the Candaian Pacific Railroad, designed by Francis Rattenbury. No, we didn’t have tea, but it is so elegant and enchanting. Several members of the British Royal family have stayed there, including my favorite monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Other guests include John Wayne & Shirley Temple.
The Empress Hotel didn’t disappoint! It was amazing from the incredible grounds to lovely architecture. Even the conference center was enchanting.
