Steady rain today in Skagway, Alaska! We went to Robbin’s favorite Alaskan shop, The Golden Bear! Reunion with Joe, & met cousin Ezra. Michael & Uncle Nick are already back home. Drat!
Back to our stateroom for room service! The hamburgers were very good!👍 Robbin did watercolor painting, Barry watched football, AKA he took a nap!). 😴🙄😉
Glacier Bay scenic cruising! 9/21/2026
Interesting fact: Red Sea Coral forms an underwater forest or three-dimensional habitat under the water in Glacier Bay. This habitat gives small creatures, such as octopus, squid, crabs, fish, and other invertebrates places to feed, attach themselves, shelter, and hide from predators. Don’t forget coral is an animal not a plant! Why yes, I did teach 2nd graders! 🍎🍎🍎
Johns Hopkins Glacier is our first glacier. It could calve at any moment! 🤔🙄 Doubtful!
Being that it’s the end of the tourist season, the mountains appear different than before. They are greener & more colorful than we have ever seen as we sail up the Johns Hopkins inlet.

After I posted the above pix, I went back on my balcony, …And well, my nextdoor neighbors, also on their balcony, locked themselves out of their stateroom! So they handed me their medallion and I went through their room & let them back in! …what are neighbors for!
Later the National Parks Ranger mentioned the two islands on the port side of our ship as we exiting Glacier Bay. By the time I cleaned up my watercolor, & put my shoes on, we’d already sailed past the two islands! No rain, no rainbows!🌈
But wait! Because I came out after we’d passed the islands, spoke to some other passengers, & chatted with a park ranger, etc! I was still out on the promenade to see a few otters chilling in the ocean. Unfortunately the pictures are too small & blurry to see much. 😬 But I did see at least 6 of them floating on their backs. 😎
