We are feeling pensive as the incredible journey of the world cruise comes to its end. We will be disembarking in the the port of Los Angeles tomorrow May 11th. The many new friends we have made and all exotic ports we’ve experienced along the way, truly made this “the extraordinary journey of a lifetime.” Additionally, we had many many wonderful moments onboard the Island Princess. Be it live entertainment, from the band Too Cool Duo, to show stopping production numbers from the show Ever After.

My favorite ports were Dubai, Puntarenas Costa Rica and Aqaba Jordan. But there were so many beautiful and interesting places we toured: Jerusalem , Casablanca, and the Bay of Islands. Being able to say I have snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef and feed elephants in Thailand isn’t too bad either! 😉😉😉 Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!!! 😅😅😅 Spain was Barry’s favorite. He liked the Sagrada Familia best. I loved that one too! All the colors! All of the cities in Spain, including the Canary Islands, were very clean. 😍😍😍

Traveling with another couple made it additionally fun, as this gave me a shopping companion and someone to go to activities with. Miss Pat and I never missed a crafts session. Sally was an awesome teacher. If Arts & Crafts is offered on a longer Princess Cruise, you should go for it. And yes, men do crafts too!… Just not Barry nor Danny! Next time I will bring scotch tape and glue! 😅😁😆

All the activities, events, excursions, shows, foods, beverages!, and cultures we have experienced. Most important are the friendships we have made. Connecting with others, both crew and passengers, has made the trip special. Among the highlights of this trip, was getting back onboard and comparing our excursion experiences with other passengers. We could learn from each other. I will be forever grateful to Connie and Joe for their tips and suggestions on touring Petra. Beth and Steve helped me with snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef.

And of course a huge thank you to the entire Wheelhouse bar staff for making me feel right at home. They make everything fun. The club class dining room staff were also brilliant. Our waiters Jonathan, the joker, and Enzo, the consummate perfectionist, were great too. As were all their staff: Chandan, Richard, & Rashell. Our breakfast waiter, Alex, at Sabatini’s, and his staff were top notch too!

It has been a long journey visiting new locations. But just like you, I can’t recall where I was or what I was doing 2 Tuesdays ago or 2 months ago. Being able to record my adventures in this blog is wonderful as it helps me recall all the activities I did. I never got bored. There was always something new or fun and familiar to do onboard (trivia, shows, movies, reading, crafts, Zumba, formal nights, mahjong, watercolor, dancing), and something to look forward to like the next port o’call or a special event onboard. Looking at the spectacular blues of the ocean and colors of the sky at sea is also wonderful, as you may have noticed from my photos. Looking at the ocean makes me feel peaceful and content. It’s very relaxing.

Looking forward to seeing family and friends!!! Many thanks to everyone who commented on this blog. You made me feel special and connected to a little piece of home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 😘😘😘
