Slovenia & Croatia cancelled Day 74, April 3, 2023

Last night, April second, the captain announced the change to our itinerary. There is a storm with 50mph winds coming to the Adriatic sea. So Slovenia and Croatia ports are canceled. We may still hit “some rough seas, but avoid the worst of the weather.” We will get underway at noon today and head for Kotor, Montenegro on April 5th as scheduled.

Previously on this cruise, we missed some ports in New Zealand but the Coral Princess cruise ship did go to these ports. Raining so hard it was coming in sideways. Miserable for passengers going on excursions. So that was a good call made by our captain.

We had gone into Ravenna on our own yesterday and had a specialty dinner in the steakhouse back onboard last night. Therefore, we did not take advantage of the nightlife in Ravenna. Plus it was Palm Sunday and lots of shops had closed early.

I have heard from several frequent world cruisers (can you believe it, they’ve done this before!) that it is not unusual for the itinerary to be modified due to severe weather conditions.

I will take this opportunity to post more pictures of Ravenna, and of life onboard the Island Princess. So here are some random photos. Enjoy!

More pictures from Ravenna.

Better to be safe! Hope you and Barry aren’t see sick.. ha ha that’s not a typo… it’s a disease caused by going on too many excursions!

    1. Jajaja! No chance of that! The most we have in a row is 3 days of excursions. And as you know we are down to one on this grouping. 😉😉😉 Tomorrow has a 60% chance of rain and a high of 49 degrees…I’m predicting a short tour. Oh and it’s a tender port! …well “you get what you get and you don’t get upset!”
