Happy Pi Day, 3/14/2023, Day 54!

We are almost at the halfway point of our world cruise. We will be in Dubai on the 56th day. Pre-cruise 111 days sounded long. Now, from the inside view, it’s more along the lines “oh no it’s almost over!” We are having a fabulous time going to foreign countries, meeting the locals, and keeping busy onboard. The cruise is flying by!

Yesterday, the captain announced crew drills…but not regular safety drills. These are “pirate drills!”As of today, we are sailing in the Arabian Gulf. Oh goodie … Soon we will be going right passed Iran. 😳😬🙄 Please keep the Island Princess’ crew & passengers in your prayers!!!

The food pictures have generated positive feedback so I’m including more! Enjoy 😉

  1. I think WW has brain washed me. I thought that chicken soup looked fantastic! Glad to hear the 111 days is not starting to drag. I think I could take it too. Time flies incredibly fast anyway so getting waited on hand and foot cruise style would be easy to get used to. Probably be harder adjusting to getting back to the grind at home. Thanks for more great pics.

    1. Yes! Exactly! Food is tasty even if healthy snd time is flying by. The soups have been particularly flavorful. PS Did you get my long email!

      1. You asked if I got your long email. I don’t think so. The last one was a general post with pics and was kinda long because of the pics mainly.

      2. I sent you a separate email with more details. I forwarded a copy to Elaine too. I must have gotten your email address wrong. Please see if you can get it from Elaine. She goes to the Thursday meeting. She wrote the next comment on this post. … Even if no one every reads it, It did help me to reflect and write about my journey.

I have a feeling it went to junk mail and I didnt recognize it and probably deleted. I will check with Elaine tomorrow, if I can think of it.

  2. 1. First your photos are great and the Persian Gulf is where Israel and Jordan want to use to refill the Dead Sea. 2nd. Just heard from Vic that the La Quinta site is closing and there will be no in person meetings held here. We can keep going to Vic’s Monday night meeting. I will be going on Thursday and plan to watch the on line meeting Friday morning. Love your trip photos; Oh. we are having sprinkles here tonight and the state is flooding up North. Those sky rivers are still sending snow and rain throughout the state. Even San Diego is having rain again. This is a wet year up in higher altitudes. Eastern Northern states have snow. Love to you, Elaine

      1. I talked to Elaine today. She didnt seem to know what I was talking about. I did give her my email address in case she figures it out. It was a very emotional meeting today. Lot of anger, sadness, confusion, etc. Vic did a fairly good job of talking us off the cliff. I’m starting to accept it and will probably continue with Vic on facebook (which I will have to join for first time). Vic’s job is gone as well. All the products were half off today. Sorry that you will miss the last meeting. You are probably better off though.
