Singapore! The very name conjures up a mystical land whose waters bustle with Chinese junks, Arab dhows, Indian vessels, and its vibrant streets teem with Chinese, Arabs, Hindus, Eurasians, and Europeans. The ancient ships have disappeared but the influx of cultures has left their mark. It was named the Lion City, Singa Pura, by a Sumatran prince in the 14th century. Once a British Crown Colony, today Singapore is an independent republic.
The symbol of Singapore is a creature known as a Merlion, a breast that’s half fish and half lion.

Unfortunately, the weather is not ideal. It’s cloudy and raining. Sometimes pouring rain! Plus the humidity is high here, as it always is close to the equator! 😬😬😬😳😉
Remember: No rain, no rainbows!
We went to shopping!!! Raffles City! It’s a 5 story mall, designed by I. M Pei. It’s beautiful!!! I bought a couple of gifts there. 😜😉😅 But mostly I loved the beauty of the mall itself! It has such a nice flow and open vibe.

We also visited Chijmes! Pat’s mom was sent to live there during WW II. The architecture is just lovely.

We also visited the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. The four of us stayed here pre-cruise in 2018. Good memories. We were here for several days, so we had seen the sights of Singapore already. It’s so clean and interesting from every angle. Singapore is among my favorite places. You should go!

Earlier today, getting off the ship, we ran into Zeny coming back onboard!
