Mardi Gras Feb. 21, 2023, Moreton Island and sea days
Today is February 21, 2023 we are celebrating Mardi Gras, as if we need a reason to party! On a cruise ship! Small island yesterday which was a “stop” and not a port! It had a resort and that’s it. I’m looking forward to upcoming ports: Airlie Beach, and Cairns – the Great Barrier Reef.

Sydney! Day 30 Saturday February 18, 2023
This is officially my longest cruise! My 2018 Asia cruise was 29 days. Beautiful day! It was supposed to rain! It was sunny & hot until later when it did rain. Thunder & lightning put on a show. Not to mention two fireworks displays. We watched it from our balcony.

Melbourne, Australia on February 16, 2023
My first time in Australia!!! We toured the city with stops at Fitzroy Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance in the Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria. Melbourne is pronounced “Mel-bun” We celebrated Valentine’s Day! on the 14th!

Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle as of 11th February 2023
Our itinerary was changed to avoid the southern island of New Zealand as the cyclone was headed right for us! Therefore, we won’t be visiting Picton, Wellington, & New Plymouth. Instead sailed through the Cook Strait and are underway to Australia! We have an additional port, Melbourne on 16 February. And then back on schedule…

We had a LOTR tour through the Hobbit village. That was canceled when we got onboard in January due to lack of staff to run the event. Bummer We had a good time walking through a Saturday swap meet and chatting with locals. They had some very cool stuff not to mention a VW car…

Our city tour was canceled! Drat! …We’re on vacation, it’s all good! We walked through the downtown shopping district with our friends Danny & Pat! It was a lovely day considering it was supposed to be cold and rainy. Reality, not a cloud in sight. 😀

Moorea, French Polynesia
Sail and snorkel today! Crystal clear beautiful water in every shade of blue. Unfortunately, Barry had a cold and missed this excursion. Robbin snorkeled found all the underwater statues, looked at the coral, and saw a blue “Dorie” fish! Among other fish.
