Santa Cruz de la Palma is the 2nd largest city and the capital of the island of La Palma. We went on a tour to the volcano 🌋and to a bodega for wine tasting. 🍷🍷🍷

Next, a quick photo stop!

Next, we visited the volcanic land area created by nature. I got a volcanic rock for Terry! 🌋🌋🌋😎😎😎 (Our guide, Rudy, said it’s allowed!) There were also volcanic eruptions in 2021. Completely safe now due to the type of volcano it is. It’s similar to the volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. 🌺

Now to the Bodega for a little wine! 🍷🍷🍷😎

Our guide, Rudy, gave us some interesting information about the Canary People, as he called them. Canary People don’t like to live close to the water. The closer to the ocean, the lower the real estate prices. They love technology. For example, everyone can video chat with the grandkids in South America or mainland Spain, etc. Most work hard and save their money to either send back home or to move back home wealthy. The main industries on La Palma are farming and tourism. Most farmers were growing bananas. They use technology on the farms as well. Since they have the telescope/observatory on the island, new industries are prohibited on the island. There aren’t any nightclubs on the island. Their climate is mild. So, if you like living the quiet life on the beach, La Palma may be the place for you! I know of one neighbor who has a house in Spain. Spain was definitely the cleanest country in Europe. My Spanish language skills aren’t great, but they’re a lot better than my Chinese! (Singapore is the cleanest place on Earth.)
