Malaga, Spain Day 86 April 15, 2023

We are loving Spain! Today’s we toured the city of Malaga and went to a church in old town, the Picasso Museum, and to an ancient Moorish fort, Alcazaba.

First was the city tour by bus. Malaga has clean streets and a nice layout. Next a walk through Old Town to see a church, the Picasso Museum, and then the Alcazaba!

We walked passed the Malaga Cathedral, known as “La Manquita.” The one armed lady! The cathedral has only one tower instead of the planned two. The church decided to give the building funds to the USA to help fight the English during American Revolution. I guess the Spanish were still mad at Henry VIII for divorcing his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, a Spanish princess!

Next we walked through the Alcazaba. This old Moorish fortress is the oldest part of the Alhambra, perched above the city, offering panoramic views of Granada and the Mediterranean. Most of the fortress has been reconstructed from detailed drawings and descriptions written in Arabic.

Yesterday during Crafts, we made boxes and packed them with candy for the crew appreciation. Miss Pat made over 80 boxes and umpteen flowers in preparation for this project. Thank you Miss Pat!!! 😇😇😇
