Ephesus was an ancient Greek city, then a major Roman provincial capital, making it a fascinating archaeological site. By the 2nd century the population was over 300,000.
The major sites are the Great Theatre, the Roman Imperial Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan, the Odeum, and the Celsus Library.

House of the Virgin Mary: According to Christian belief, Mary was brought to Ephesus by the Apostle John after the resurrection. She lived out her days there.

It was a beautiful day, but really cold. Especially if one is acclimated to desert weather! It was a high of 53 degrees Fahrenheit or 11 degrees celsius. It rained yesterday, so we are happy with the weather! It’s all good.
